Chad Schofield to return at Moonee Valley

Monday 19 January 2015, 6:04pm

Chad Schofield is eager for his return to the saddle and will make his comeback from injury at Moonee Valley on Saturday.

The multiple Group One-winning rider has been out of action since suffering injuries to his back and arm in a race fall at Geelong on December 7.

He suffered two fractured vertebrae and also dislocated his elbow which required an operation to re-attach tendons and nerves.

Schofield will ride trackwork on Tuesday morning and says he can't wait to get back to race riding on Saturday.

"I got my (medical) clearance last Friday and then all I had to do was pass the final concussion test which I did this morning," Schofield said.

"So I got the all clear this morning and I think I've picked up one or two rides on Saturday so far. I'm just really looking forward to getting back into it now."
