Moor with three Flemington chances

Friday 9 January 2015, 5:08pm

A third of Daniel Moor's 24 wins in Victoria this season have come for the Mick Price stable and he gets the opportunity to add his tally with three rides for the trainer at Flemington.

The Caulfield trainer has booked Moor to partner the progressive Aeratus, debutante Ibtisama and Samaready's half-sister Samartested who resumes on Saturday.

A daughter of Testa Rossa, Samartested was second at Geelong on debut last July before scoring a maiden win over 1300m at the same track and then a narrow midweek win over 1400m at Sandown in August.

Moor, who rides work a couple of times a week at Caulfield and three times a week at Flemington, has never been aboard Samartested in a race but is looking forward to the chance in the Tauto Handicap (1200m).

"She is ticking over well," Moor said.

"Her first preparation was a bit of education and seeing where she was at.

"She didn't seem an out-and-out sprinter like her sister, and she's definitely improved and come back stronger than last time in.

"I'm expecting a good run from her."

Fastnet Rock two-year-old Ibtisama steps out for the first time in the Better Beyond Plate (1000m) and she is a $6.50 chance in an open market, while betting suggest five-year-old Aeratus is Moor's leading chance in the Comedy King Handicap (1600m).

The gelding is the $3.70 favourite after a second-up third in the Listed Lord Stakes at Sandown on Boxing Day with Glen Boss aboard.

Aeratus won five of his six starts last campaign including two wins and a second from his three attempts at Flemington.

"His last start was excellent, I thought, and he comes into his own at Flemington," Moor said.
