Three-pronged Waller attack in Summer Cup

Sunday 21 December 2014, 4:47pm

Veteran I'm Imposing has hit form at the right time ahead of his bid for back-to-back wins in the Group Three Summer Cup at Randwick.

The nine-year-old goes to the Boxing Day feature at Randwick with victory in the Listed Festival Stakes and a close second in the Group Two Villiers from his past two starts.

He came within a short neck and 100 grams of winning the Villiers when Rudy's jockey Luke Tarrant weighed in light but just under the 500g which would have cost him the race.

I'm Imposing has had his share of injuries throughout his career but is healthy and happy and will be one of three runners for leading Sydney trainer Chris Waller.

The enigmatic Hoylonny and Multilateral join him in the 2000m quality handicap.

"All three will run. I'm Imposing will get a lot of weight which will make it hard," Waller said.

"But he is in such good form he should go there.

"Hoylonny is Hoylonny while Mulilateral should improve going up to 2000 metres.

"And rain would certainly help him."

Despite the fact Hoylonny mixes his form, his prize money is approaching the half million dollar mark and five of his seven wins have been from 1800 to 2000 metres.

Multilateral finished out of the money in both the Festival and the Villiers.

Entries for the Summer Cup have been left open until Monday with 14 nominations taken on Friday including the Jason Coyle-trained Scream Machine, who ran his best race for some time when 2-1/2 lengths fifth in the Villiers.

Among Waller's other entries on the program is newcomer Gosh, the winner of three races in France and placed twice in Group Three races there.
