Payne loses appeal against suspension

Michelle Payne has had to relinquish her rides this weekend after failing in an appeal against a careless riding suspension.

Payne was booked for two rides at Moonee Valley on Friday night and was scheduled to partner Great Lane in Saturday's Bitalli Handicap (2540m) at Flemington.

Luke Nolen has picked up the ride on the Symon Wilde-trained Great Lane at Flemington.

Payne was banned for eight meetings at Flemington after being found her guilty of careless riding aboard Profit Share in the final race on the program.
