Sharing Winners-Belhus Racing /Grand Syndicates combined e-newsletter

Friday 12 December 2014, 10:23am

Welcome to the all new ‘Sharing Winners’ e-newsletter!

The first paper edition of 'Sharing Winners' was printed and mailed out by Karen and myself on a weekly basis 19 years ago. Hands up if you remember it or better still even have one stored in a shoe box somewhere!

With the recent introduction of Grand Syndicates to the stable, this version of our newsletter has been born out of necessity because our Belhus owners didn't know when the Grand horses were running and the Grand owners didn't know when the Belhus horses were running!

This new version will be a regular midweek e-newsletter which’ll give all our owners from both stables a brief run-down on the runners for the days heading towards and including the weekend.

We’ll include a selection of interesting articles pilfered from the internet and personally screened by our meticulous staff, in addition to the occasional rantings from me when something cheeses me off (sometimes I just need to get things off my chest and what better recipient than our long suffering clients!),  a regular owner of the week feature, the odd profile of our associates in the training/breeding industry, and of course opportunities for readers to buy shares in horses offered either through Belhus Racing Stables or Grand Syndicates too.

PLUS-WE'LL FIND YOU SOME WINNERS!
In a bit of a coup, I've enlisted the services of two horse racing professionals coming on board to tip you some winners. Both are pro punters that I personally know (I'm sorry but we can't show you their faces), and I'm doing a deal where I pay them for winners-but you get the info for free!

So, grab a drink, pinch a couple of minutes, and enjoy our first edition of the all new ‘Sharing Winners’...

Upcoming Runners

on FridaySaturday & Sunday...

TYKIATO RUNS SECOND UP AT MOE ON FRIDAY...
Tykiato heads to Moe on Friday for just her 2nd start after a good third on debut. She's had a minor setback in between but is fit and well and the short 1000m journey will suit her again with the in form Ryan Maloney to take the ride. It's an even race with plenty of chances on paper, however she's certainly worth an each-way ticket on what we've seen from her so far.

WANDERLUST & MY MESTARI IN THE SAME RACE ON FRIDAY...
Also on Friday, over in WA we have two horses in the last race at Bunbury, they being Wanderlust and the former Sydneysider My Mestari who'll be making her debut in the gold 'n' black Grand colours. Wanderlust heads there on the back of a very good 4th last time out when ridden cold. Drawn wide again here, the tactics will be similar and if we can get some pace on and a bit of luck, he'll be a very good chance in a race that to me lacks a standout. My Mestari on the other hand is first up from a break and will be looking for further, but her trial over 1000m was very good and we assume she'll also be hitting the line hard, hopefully as a black-booker run for when she gets to a mile plus.

GRAND DAZZLER MAKES HIS DEBUT ON SATURDAY!
On Saturday we have Grand Dazzler set to make his debut at the Gold Coast following a nice trial placing actually beating against many of Saturday's competition. He's drawn 5 over the 900m scamper and though he has plenty of gate speed, as always it can be in the lap of the God's early over this distance as to where you end up. That said, he's shown some ability and if he can jump as well as he has in his trial and his previous jump-out, he's a genuine winning chance.

BOBBY BENZINE GOES TO PINJARRA ON SUNDAY...
Bobby Benzine has had a short break from racing due to a post Broome virus and also a skin rash, and he resumes in the 52-64 event over 2000m at Pinjarra on Sunday. He probably isn't match fit yet and will need this run to have him near his top. His target is a 2200m race at Ascot on Perth Cup Day.

AQUAJINSKY CAN ONLY DRAW WIDE BARRIERS!

Unbelievably, this filly has been entered for five races lately and has drawn wide every time. Trainer Sharon Taylor says that the horse is going well and with a good barrier would be a chance to win. However, if we keep waiting we might never get a good draw so she'll go around at Pinjarra on Sunday and we'll take the opportunity to ride her patiently and hopefully see her doing her best work late. Takahide Ikenushi to ride.

HAWAIIAN ROSE WINS AT GOSFORD!

Grands's Stratum filly HAWAIIAN ROSE showed a ton of grit and determination to win at Gosford last Thursday at only her third start in a race. With a form line of 3,2, she was able to go one better with the services of top jock James McDonald who sat her outside the leader and lifted her to win narrowly as a short priced favourite. Trainer Grant Allard has done a top job with the filly and he's recommended that she now go out for a spell to benefit from further maturity. Having finished third, second and then first at her only three starts, she's certainly a filly with a future and we've got some very excited owners!

In Form-SaturdayClass-Ready To Race Next Week and Only $1,650/Share!

If patience isn't your thing and you want to go racing right now-here's your horse....

There's no doubting Minimalist's ability-and a city win for him and you could be just around the corner!

At Ascot on Saturday October 18th, he missed the jump by 4 lengths, but ran home from last on the corner to finish fifth, returning the fastest last 600m of the race, and on Saturday November 1st he produced another slashing run when he flew home from well back on the corner to finish fourth, getting to within 3/4 of a length of the winner and again returning the fastest last 600m (equal) of the race.

After having had 10 starts in his recent prep, he has a brief let up for 3 weeks, and is currently back in work scheduled to race again in mid December. The goal is to have a go at some longer races early in the new year. If he proves to us that he can run a journey as the trainer believes he will, there's every possibility that we'll target the $120,000 Bunbury Cup (Listed-2200m) with him in March....

In a 20 share syndicate, there are 4 x 5% shares remaining priced at $1,650 each and $6/day syndicate fees which covers all normal costs. More information is available from peter@belhusracing.com.au

This terrific looking filly is by the hot new first season stallion STRYKER, a stunning Group winning son of champion stallion Fastnet Rock and bred in the purple.
