The yearling market loves the TIME THIEF'S , gaining in popularity as the sales season progresses as shown by the results of the recent MM Adelaide sales. 3 yearlings presented , 3 sold for $90K , $70K & $28K . The sole Time Thief sold at the recent QTIS sale fetched $34K.

TIME THIEF himself was an absolute stunner , a $2M yearling , and he is throwing type. Of 20+ yearlings sold he hasn't had a disaster result with the lowest priced at $18k ranging through to $90k , for an average $35K.

This colt is a ripper , and I'm sure if presented at a yearling sale would have fetched twice his asking price here. Can be inspected at Chatsworth Park in Scone where they are glowing in their assessment of him.

Race him , prep him for a ready to run , or even target the Asian market where his 1/2 brother SAMURAI PHOENIX was held in high regard ( see him race in the "play a video of this horse " feature of this listing ).

Comments from trainer Cliff Brown and jockey shortly after this colt's 1/2 brother SAMURAI PHOENIX , commenced racing in Singapore

"Brown said Samurai Phoenix had to do it the tough way in scoring a courageous victory.

“He didn't have anything go his way,” said Brown. “The track has been favouring horses on the speed and near the fence.

“He was three wide all the way and toughed it out well to the line.

“The 2000m of the Derby looks ideal for him.”

Saimee concurred with Brown and said Samurai Phoenix would have no problems handling the 2000m of the Derby.

“The first thing I said to Cliff was that he will appreciate the 2000m of the Derby,” said Brown.

“The thing I like about him is that he has a nice turn of foot and then keeps grinding away.

TESIO sex balanced to DANZIG . BY Time Thief / Redoute's Choice / Danehill / DANZIG , frim Different Approach by DANZIG. 4x2 cross to DANZIG being sire of sire Danehill and sire of dam Different Approach.

This is the first time DIFFERENT APPROACH has been bred to a Danzig line stallion to take advantage of the TESIO principle. The only time it has been tried is with SPENEPI from one of her daughters Genepi . He has very good ability and is being set for the Adelaide Guineas.

One of only 6 yearlings from in Australia from a DANZIG mare , then from a Listed GONE WEST mare , herself a 1/2 to TINNER'S WAY , 3 times Gr1 winner & $2M earner ( Sire ).

The resemblance this colt has to DANZIG ( photo 2 ) is uncanny. He carries a perfect 4 ( through sire line ) x 2 ( as sire of dam of this colt ) . This is classic TESIO sex balanced line breeding.

As at 17th December , this yearling for sale weighed in at 450kg's & 15 hh ( Refer growth chart - Reports section ) . Extremely well proportioned colt , great mover and type.

As mentioned this yearling is a half brother to Samurai Phoenix who was sold to Singapaore , immediately making an impact ( See Videos 1 & 2 ) . So much so that only after a handful of starts he started 2nd fav in the Gr1 $1M , Singapore Derby where Nash Rawiller made the trip to ride him , after earlier making the trip to ride him in the Gr1 Patron's Bowl ( Video 3 ) .

In addition to the Gr1 Singapore Derby , this colt's half brother also contested the Gr1 Patron's Bowl & Gr1 Singapore Gold Cup. He recently resumed with a nice 4th.

This colt will be far bigger & stronger than his older sibling .

Half sister Genepi showed good ability , winning her maiden early , then straight to Listed race where was unfortunately injured and retired to stud , her 1st foal wins at 2nd start at strong Pakenham venue and will be set for the Adelaide Guineas in May.
