Sheamus Mills Bloodstock

Sheamus Mills has vast experience in many facets of the bloodstock industry including breeding, racing, media and marketing.

Working independently as a bloodstock agent, Sheamus has achieved outstanding results from purchases at all major sales around Australasia as well as from England, Ireland and the United States.

After successful completion of the Diploma Of Horse Studies (Breeding), where awarded the Vanuatu Betting Scholarship for outstanding academic achievement, Sheamus started his career working hands on with horses at Chatswood Stud and later Dreelburn Stud.

Using this time to expand his pedigree knowledge, he then landed a role producing articles on all aspects of thoroughbred breeding for the Breeding Scene section of the Truth racing paper.

This lead to Sheamus successfully managing four Victorian based jockeys which he did for more than three years and enabled him to gain a valuable insight into form analysis, studying race replays and horses actions etc.

From there Sheamus was offered the role as Marketing & Bloodstock manager for Chatswood Stud before managing a large pool of racehorses and mares for a private client.

Rounding out his ‘education’ Sheamus was then offered the role as Racing Manager for leading trainer Mick Price at Caulfield where he worked alongside many of the industries most prominent participants.

This experience has been complimented with significant time spent overseas to establish a large pool of contacts throughout New Zealand, Asia, the USA and Europe.

Sheamus’ successful purchasing and management of racehorses and breeding stock include multiple Group 1 winner Gallica, stakes winner My Vegas, El Mandon a winner of over $280,000 and the winner of over $180,000 Red Tracer.

He has successfully orchestrated stud deals for the Group 1 winning son of Southern Halo, Snappy Halo as well as the Group 2 winning son of Storm Cat Planet Five and high profile Australian performer Pillar of Hercules. His list of stakes winning broodmares for clients is a lengthy one.
