Description

Sheer Danger is a very well bred 4 year old maiden by Danehill Dancer out of an Irish winning mare named Sheer Silk. Comes from an excellent international bloodline with his family racing at the highest level throughout Europe.

Trialed very well at Randwick for a close up second before his first race start.

His first race start he ran a cracking 3rd at Mudgee in a strong country maiden race on Mudgee Cup day where he rattled home from a long way back to just miss out being beaten under 1 length. He followed it up with a disappointing result at Kembla where he pulled up lame with a bad knee and needed an operation. The owners invested in this surgery to bring him back to racing due to the ability he had shown.

After a 6 month recovery the horse trained very strongly and first start back he started favorite at Moruya but over-raced badly early in the race but battled on well in the straight to finish 7th. Backed up a few weeks later in a strong maiden at Nowra on an unsuitable heavy 8 where he got back early and got home ok just 3.9 lengths from the winner.

He is a horse with plenty ability that needs to be managed but trained in the right environment can definitely win races. He is a big strong horse that is a good doer and easy to handle.

The horse is probably suited best over middle distances and is BOBS Extra registered.

Currently located at Berry on the NSW South Coast.
