Barbizon's first start was in the listed Merson Cooper Stakes won by Secession. More recently, on the 28th June 2010, Barbizon finished a two length fourth at Echuca in a $12,000 race on a heavy track.

Barbizon is among the first crop by Benicio - the VRC Derby winning son of popular sire More Than Ready (sire of Sebring, Phelan Ready, More Joyous, Perfectly Ready, Augusta Proud, and others). Benicio's dam, Mannington was a multiple black type winner, and also the dam of multiple group winning Romneya.

Barbizon's dam, Tendue, is by General Nediym (Sire of multiple Group 1 winner, Regimental Gal and others). She herself was a winner over 1200 metres and ran 4th in the Maribyrnong Trial Stakes (listed).

Barbizon has only recently been spelled. He is sound and has a terrific temperament.
