Zoffany Lands Four Stakes Winners At Royal Ascot From His First Crop Of Two Year Olds-Never Been Done Before!


Hasn’t ZOFFANY got everybody in the breeding world talking!


Trained by one of the World’s great trainers Aidan O’Brien, ZOFFANY was a high class racehorse who won 5 races in his juvenile year-3 of them at Stakes level including the prestigious Group 1 Phoenix Stakes. He’s regarded as the fastest 2yo by Danehill’s top class sire-son Dansili.


In addition to his five wins, one of Zoffany’s best performances was in defeat when runner-up to the mighty Frankel in the St. James’s Palace Stakes-also a Group 1 race at Royal Ascot, beaten only ¾ length. No other horse got within 4 lengths of FRANKEL in that year!


As good as he was on the racetrack though, it’s in the breeding barn that Zoffany really has people talking. Currently, amongst his first 2yo runners in the Northern Hemisphere are 21 individual winners -5 of them Stakeswinners. They include:


· WATERLOO BRIDGE – G2 Norfolk Stakes winner at Royal Ascot over 1000m. “Like all of the Zoffany’s, he has a lot of natural speed and travelled very strongly”-Trainer Aidan O’Brien


· ILLUMINATE – G2 Duchess of Cambridge Stakes & G3 Albany Stakes winner at Royal Ascot over 1200m. “I knew she’d go well. She is very good”-Trainer Richard Hughes


· WASHINGTON DC – Listed Windsor Castle Stakes winner at Royal Ascot over 1000m and runner up in the G1 Phoenix Stakes.


· ARGENTERO – Listed Rochestown Stakes winner over 1200m. “It was a really good performance for a 2yo to win like that” Trainer Ger Lyons.


· FOUNDATION – Listed Ascendant Stakes winner. “He's without doubt an exciting prospect”-Timeform.


In Australia, Zoffany's first crop yearlings sold for up to $180,000 and averaged $59,000 but it’s almost certain that the 2016 round of yearling sales will see those figures skyrocket and for the most part, they'll become unaffordable to all but those with the fattest wallets!


Luckily though we’ve got our hands on two. The first one was fully syndicated almost straight away, and though this one is more expensive, we’re expecting it to sell quickly too!


As you can see from his yearling photo and the photo's taken in mid September when working at Ascot in his first prep, he’s a stunning looking chestnut who looks the real athlete. With good size and conformation, he’s an impressive looking thoroughbred who’s bred to do well. He’s a half brother to HURDY GURDY MAN who won 8 races and over $450,000 in prizemoney, and in fact his dam ‘Abalone’ has had four to race and ALL HAVE BEEN WINNERS!


The horse is in work and heading to trials for trainer Lindsey Smith. Everyone who works with him has the same opinion-he’s a ready made racehorse who just wants to run.


Our intention is to work towards getting him a start in the Karrakatta Plate in April 2016. It should be an exciting ride and I hope you can join us for it...….
