Irish bred VALIXIR is a grandson of precocious unbeaten English 2YO and leading sire SHARPEN UP. It is therefore no surprise that VALIXIR won his first two starts as a 2YO over 1200m and was also Stakes placed as a juvenile. Competing at the highest level throughout his career, 17 of his 19 races were Stakes events, 10 at Group 1 level. The winner of 8 races to 2400m, VALIXIR defeated STARCRAFT by 2L in the G1 Ascot Queen Anne Stakes and also beat Australian Turf Champion ELVSTROEM by 2L in the Prix Dispahan at Longchamps, retiring to stud duties at 4YO.


His oldest progeny now 3YOs, VALIXIR already boasts a Stakes Winner in Lethal Jones, winner of the Listed WATC Melvista Stakes. Recording 10 winners from 30 starters to date, VALIXIR is proving as versatile at stud as he was at the track, producing winners from 1000m to 2200m.


This is the third dam for TAVETTE the winning dam of this colt who was also twice city placed. Her first foal won two Cranbourne trials before being sold to Hong Kong whilst the second foal is currently in Mick Kents stable. Second dam, TE AKAU, boasts a perfect record at stud. She has produced 7 winners from as many to start including prolific city winner (12 wins) and Stakes placed Celtic Trial as well as Caulfield Stakes placegetter Jayemzed (6 wins). Third dam PRINCESS PHOENIX, a Flemington winner herself, is the dam of 5 winners incl. multiple Group winning STEEL PHOENIX (AJC Chairman’s H. [G2]; Chairman’s H.[G2]; STC Canterbury Cup [G3].
