The Pedigree
By Rubick, winner of three races (two at 2), including the Gr.2. Schillaci Stks and Gr.3. Blue Diamond Prelude. His dam (Sliding Cube) is a Group winning three-part sister to champion sire Redoute’s Choice. Sliding Cube’s siblings also include Gr.1 winners and sires Platinum Scissors (Danehill) Manhattan Rain (Encosta de Lago) and the stakes winner and now NZ-based sire Echoes of Heaven (Encosta de Lago). Rubick was the highest-rated 2yo colt of his generation and the most precocious son of Encosta de Lago. A brilliant weight-for-age winning sprinter as a 3yo Rubick was rated equal at 3 to another star-son of Encosta de Lago, Northern Meteor.

From Coco De Mer, a sister to the stakes winner Launay (8 wins) and Beau Vallon (2 wins, 1at 2). From the same family as Storm Gr.2. Moonee Valley Cup, Regal Sea Gr.3. Kingston Town Stks and Runaway Groom Gr.3. winner. This is a family of producers. Her dam Eve of Seychelles had 5 winners from 8 starters and her 2nd dam Evening Sea had 6 to race, all winners!

The Confirmation
This athletic colt is the spitting image of sire Rubick in both looks and temperament. He passed all our stringent sale purchasing criteria with ease. Physically he looks a muscular early running type.
This from Dave Mee (PBI),
“Happy to have assisted in purchasing this equine athlete. He was a clone of his father Rubick, a get up and go individual with presence, natural muscle, athleticism and fluid movement. Physically and genetically I’m expecting this guy to be a classy 2yo runner”

Edward O’Rourke (Randwick)
This BOBS nominated Colt will be trained by trainer Edward O’Rourke at Randwick. Edward is a highly regarded, up and coming trainer who previously worked as Senior Stable Foreman for Gai Waterhouse and most recently Assistant Trainer to Michael Freedman, where he put the finishing touches on Teaspoon (1st 2017 Sweet Embrace G2) and Frolic (2nd in the 2017 Golden Slipper G1). We have strategically chosen Edward to train the colt at his world class Randwick stables due to his talent as a quality horseman and attention to detail enabling his horses to reach their highest potential. Edward also shares our commitment to owners through his clear and regular communication strategies and an open-stable approach.

Latest Update
This Colt is currently being broken in at Scone. The plan will be to bring him in to Edward O’Rourke’s at Randwick for 1st introduction to stable life in late March

This very forward Rubick Colt is the first of our new "Take Aim" syndication concept.

What is the “Take Aim” Syndication Concept?
-We purchase yearling colts in the $80-140K price bracket by commercial sires with good pedigrees
-Our number one priority is to race the colt to be competitive at Saturday metropolitan grade.
-Insurance (until 11 Feb 2019) and Training Costs (until 1 March 2019) included in the upfront purchase price!
-Through consultation with trainer, bloodstock agent and owners we make a determination in March 2019 on the future career of racehorse.
1. If we determine the colt has the ability to win a city sat race (>$100K) – we RETAIN
2. If not, we focus on trial/race to achieve greatest residual value –then EXPORT
- Pulse Racing Thoroughbreds identifies in writing to owners of the proposed decision on either retention or sale of colt.
- As per the PDS, 60% of owners required to uphold the proposed decision

The Selection Process for Take Aim Colts
The colt was purchased in partnership with Bloodstock Agent Dave Mee (FBAA) from Pinhook Bloodstock International (PBI) at the Inglis Classic Yearling Sale in 2018. A stringent and robust selection process was utilised to select this colt for Take Aim 1 to Maximize your chances of achieving optimum return on your investment. The process of sale selection included x-ray assessment, cardiac assessment, pedigree rating, vet inspection and scoping. Dave Mee is an Australian market leader in racehorse sales to Asia and has sold 164 horses to Asia, primarily Hong Kong, Macau and Singapore and has significant experience and success at selecting horses to be raced in Australia.
