Description:
****OK, after being fully sold, we have had two 5% shares open up after an owner was unable to fulfil his obligations. SO DON'T MISS THIS AGAIN! ****
If you’ve ever wanted to own a racehorse, or you do already but would like to add a nice horse to your stable without paying a King’s Ransom for the privilege, then take a look at this superbly well bred gelding by the Australian Champion stallion REDOUTE'S CHOICE!
A winner of the Group 1 Manikato Stakes and Champion Australian Stallion TWICE, as you would imagine, REDOUTE'S CHOICE has got outstanding statistics having produced 556 winners at a very high 75% winners to runners ratio. He’s become the Champion Stallion by producing such outstanding gallopers as MISS FINLAND, SAMANTHA MISS, FASHIONS AFIELD, NADEEM, GOD’S OWN, LOTTERIA, KING’S ROSE, SNITZEL, DARIANA, UNDOUBTEDLY, ABSOLUTELY and so the list goes on.
The colts dam is SHAPIRA who won two Stakes races in South America including one at the elite level (Group 1). Interestingly, each of the first four dams in this colts pedigree are all winners and with the exception of Shapira who’s first foal (this one) is just a yearling, all have gone on to produce winners at stud.
Ascot based trainer John Price who has purchased many yearlings that have gone on to be successful on the track, bought this colt at the Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling Sales acknowledging the fact that he’s a shade on the small side-which is why we got him at a bargain price. As John said after he’d bought him, “If he was two inches taller, he’d have been a six figure colt!”. So there’s a bit of gamble having bought a small horse. We’re banking on the fact that he’ll strengthen up in time, and live up to his fabulous winning pedigree.
It's worth noting that the great stallion NORTHERN DANCER is in this colt's pedigree and despite being barely over 15.1hh, he's recognised not only as a brilliant racehorse having won the Kentucky Derby and never being unplaced in his 18 starts, but also as the greatest thoroughbred stallion ever and certainly the most influential stallion of the 20th century!
Meet Your Trainer-John Price..
"Gentleman" John Price has been a prominent Ascot based trainer for over 25 years now. Starting out as a young man on a mission, his first good horse was "BUCKSHOT BANDIT" who the 1984 Coolgardie and Kalgoorlie cups!
Kicking on from his early feature race successes, the winners continued to flow for John with consistent regularity courtesy of some very talented and well prepared horses such as CONFRONT (5 starts for 4 wins including the G2 Karrakatta Plate), NOBLE SKY (9 wins & 16 placings including the G2 Winterbottom Stakes) ARCTIC PARK (17 wins & 15 placings including the Goodwood Cup, Grandstand Cup, Easter Stakes, Summer Scorcher etc), TWILIGHT SPY (10 wins & 10 placings including the Easter Stakes, Australia Day Stakes, Starstruck Classic etc), Flying Tiger (7 wins), Queen's Eye (6 wins), Baron Orczy (6 wins), Bawcstar (5 wins) etc.
A man for all jobs, John also spent some time in the capacity of President of the WA Racehorse Trainers Association in addition to keeping a string of gallopers in work form his Ascot stables. In 2009 John took a well earned break from the the industry for a couple of years util making a comeback in late 2011. So, fresh from a spell and rearing to get on with the job of training winners again, he's now in the process of restocking his stable with some quality youngsters and he's looking forward to their success when they attain racing age.
