By Magic Albert who has established himself as one of Australia's very best young stallions. He is currently 18th on the 2011/12 National General Sires List. Two seasons ago he was 47th and last season 25th on the list. He has sired some outstanding horses including the Group 1 winners Albert The Fat, Ilovethiscity, Magic Cape and Fighting Warrior. In total he has sired 268 winners with 28 stakes horses. I am proud of the fact we purchased four of these from just ten we have raced.
I know some of our best studs are looking to purchase his daughters as they offer a wonderful cross to the large number of Danzig line sires that stand here.
Too Many Reds continued to display just what a good mare Red Centre is by winning at Doomben on 4 August 2012 in record time carrying 59kg.
I love Rubiton as a broodmare sire and have had terrific success with both colts and fillies out of Rubiton mares. I was lucky enough to buy one of the first stakes winners out of a Rubiton mare. This was Calming. She was an outstanding mare winning in four states. She was our first metropolitan winner in Victoria, Queensland and South Australia.
Horses out of Rubiton mares include Dash For Cash, Playing God, God Has Spoken, Incumbent, Danerich, Maybe Better, Seventh Rock and King Of Danes.
We followed up by then purchasing Horrocks by Strategic out of the Rubiton mare, Mrs. Magoo. Only injury stopped Horrocks from being our best ever horse.
I purchased Red Centre as a yearling from Blue Gum Farm. She wasn’t a big yearling but had terrific quality about her. It was a tragedy that she broke down in only her second start when an odds on favourite at Moonee Valley. I had no hesitation in recommending to her owner that he keep her as a broodmare. She has already produced a stakes horse in Too Many Reds as well as the multiple winning filly Faith'nÇourage and the highly talented Not Another Red from just three to race. In fact her progeny have earned stakes money in 32 of the 36 races they have started in including 10 wins.
Red Centre was very quick and comes from a particularly fast family. Her family is full of winners with the mares in the family doing the job. Her dam is the Kenvain stakes placed mare, Land Of Dreams. Under Command is out of a Kenvain mare. She only had three to race with two winning and of course Red Centre being the third. Her half sister is the dam of the Sydney winner Cash For Cards.
This is a terrific filly. The photo tells a story. She has a terrific hindquarter and really looks like a racehorse in the making. All of the progeny of Red Centre have had terrific personality and this filly is the same.
She is a lovely type and I am looking forward to her getting to the races
