Out of a well-bred COMMANDS mare, this colt is bred on the same A+ Nicks rated cross as 6 of DREAM AHEAD’S 16 stakes-winners!


As a racehorse, Dream Ahead was absolutely top shelf. A winner of 5 Group 1 races during his career, he won 2 of those in his juvenile year winning the time-honoured Group 1 Middle Park Stakes by an incredible 9 lengths, in addition to winning the prestigious Group 1 Prix Morny in France, those performances prompting Timeform to rate him as equal to the undefeated superstar FRANKEL with the pair being crowned European Co-Champion 2 Year Olds!
As a 3 year old, Dream Ahead went on to win the Group 1 Darley July Cup beating Coolmore Stud Stakes winner Star Witness by nearly 5 lengths, the Group 1 Betfred Sprint Cup, and possibly his crowning glory, the Group 1 Prix De La Foret. It was this outstanding performance on French soil that wrote Dream Ahead into the European racing history books. His trade mark turn of foot saw him lower the colours of 14 time Group 1 winning, super mare GOLDIKOVA in record breaking time, in an epic battle between two great champions.


Dream Ahead retired as the winner of 6 races, 5 at Group 1 level, from just 9 starts. He won from 1200m to 1400m and beat some of the greatest names in European racing.


Crowned Co-Champion 2yo Colt of Europe and Great Britain in 2010, he followed that up with being named not only Champion 3yo Miler of Great Britain and France in 2011, but also CHAMPION SPRINTER IN EUROPE in the same year, before being retired to stud where it was obvious to all that he was destined to succeed.
With Dream Ahead’s oldest progeny only just turning 4 year olds in Europe and 3 year olds in Australia, the shuttle stallion has already produced 170 individual winners, from which have come a massive 16 stakes-winners including the G1-winner AL WUKAIR. His high rate of producing horses capable of black-type racing, has given him more stakes-winners as a 2nd season stallion than SNITZEL, I AM INVINCIBLE, WRITTEN TYCOON, NOT A SINGLE DOUBT, LONHRO and STREET CRY. It’s also worth noting that 10 of his stakes-winners have been colts. Add that to the 6 stakes-winners by Dream Ahead in DREAMS APLENTY, SWEETY DREAMS, GENERALISSIMO, TISBUTADREAM, DREAM OF DREAMS and AWAKEN, all of whom have been bred on the same Danehill cross as our colt, and he looks to have the odds heavily stacked in his favour to succeed on the racetrack.


On the dam’s side, this colt is out of the mare Jungfrau, an impeccably bred daughter of the outstanding broodmare sire COMMANDS and the stakes-winning STRATEGIC mare IMPERATRIX, a half sister to G1 winners CURATA STORM and VOILE D’OR, the latter a multiple winner at the highest level winning both the Western Australian Derby and the South Australian Oaks. As a broodmare, Jungfrau is also already proven, producing a winner from her first foal to the racetrack and giving her a 100% runners to winners strike-rate to this point.


It’s not just a strong pedigree and cross that puts the percentages in your favour on this colt though, because on type, we rated him very highly. A naturally athletic young thoroughbred with excellent overall conformation, he presented well with a good walk which was complimented by a good temperament too-all of which made him a ‘must have’ on our pre-purchase shortlist at the 2018 Magic Millions Adelaide Yearling Sale.
We secured him well under our valuation, and we’re offering him up-front as one of our very popular ‘Single-Grand’ syndicates, which will be much less than what he’s cost us to this point (yes, you’ve read that right). FULL 5% shares are $1,100 up front with the remaining purchase costs only coming out of prizemoney if he wins it.
