If you like well put together colts, it’s time to raise your eyes to Grand Syndicates new colt, a very impressive specimen by former Champion First Season Sire of the USA, CONGRATS and from the well-related HUSSONET mare Goodgollymissdolly.


Vinery shuttle stallion CONGRATS started his career with a bang in the USA, and now with over 500 winners to his name, he has continued to build an impressive set of number across both hemispheres. Those winners have come at the very high class strike-rate of 67% and include 27 individual stakes-winners and 4 individual G1 winners. But it’s his incredible first season at stud that best shows just what excellent, robust types he throws. From a low fee and low quality book of mares, he would still be crowned Champion 1st Season Sire of the USA, in what ranks as one of the best first crops you will ever see. That crop included 92 of his progeny to race for an incredible 82 individual winners of 347 races in total (so far). Included in that are 9 individual stakes-winners and the G1 winners WICKEDLY PERFECT, and TURBULENT DESCENT, who put 4 G1 wins next to her name. Congrats has got plenty of runs on the board so far and when you cross in the female family of this colt, it gets even more attractive.


Our colt’s dam is the well-related HUSSONET mare Goodgollymissdolly, a ½ sister to 7 winners and 2 stakes-performers, including the highly talented multiple G1 performer TERONADO, a horse trained by this colt’s trainer in Bruce Hill and a big reason why this colt was on our radar. A galloper with incredible ability, Teronado won 4 races before eventually succumbing to an injury sustained in the G1 Australian Derby, but before he did, he had a 3yo season where he showed himself to be up to Australia’s best 3yos. He was good enough to finish 5th in the Australian Guineas, on the heels of SHAMUS AWARD, CRITERION and EUROZONE, all now some of Australia’s most promising young stallions. He followed with a 4th placing in the G1 Randwick Guineas, behind DISSIDENT and EUROZONE, and this time defeating the champion Criterion. He then followed with a 3rd placing in the G1 Rosehill Guineas won by CRITERION, but defeating Dissident and Shamus Award in the process. It was knowing how good Teronado was that had us inspecting this colt with Bruce at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale. But it was the colt’s type that was the most impressive thing of all.


A very correct individual, he’s a big, strong colt with plenty of scope and reign, and one who looks set to furnish out into an incredibly attractive racehorse. It’s no wonder we had him ranked number 1 overall as our target of the sale!


To be trained by leading Grand Syndicates trainer Bruce Hill on the Gold Coast, full 5% shares including breaking in and all post-sale costs until October are priced at only $1,100, with Grand’s “no stress” fixed fees at $6.60 a day budgeted to cover all costs. **NOTE** For the first time ever, Grand Syndicates will be offering a limited number of 2.5% shares, available for $550, with fixed fees at $3.30 a day.
