It’s no secret that Grand Syndicates are big fans of the stallion ALL TOO HARD. The sire of our incredibly promising 3yo star BEHEMOTH trained by David Jolly, he was always a stallion who’s progeny were going to command our attention at all the yearling sales this season. When we were able to secure this colt, another son of the former champion racehorse and ¾ brother to our queen of the turf BLACK CAVIAR, well it’s hard not to get excited!


On the racetrack ALL TOO HARD was a superstar. In his 3yo season he was a 4-time G1 winner, collecting the All Aged Stakes, CF Orr, Futurity Stakes and Caulfield Guineas in a dominant season. He was not only crowned Australian champion 3yo colt, but also was second in Australian Horse Of The Year honours, where it took the might of his undefeated ¾ sister BLACK CAVIAR to beat him. It was a season which saw him also gain international recognition too when he was named equal highest rated 3yo colt in the world!


At stud, ALL TOO HARD has now had two crops complete their first seasons, from which he’s produced 15 stakes-performers, led by Guineas winners VILLERMONT and DEMONETIZATION, and the G2 Stan Fox winner TARKA. When we throw in our lightly-raced and excitement machine Behemoth who destroyed a nice field of 3yos at Moonee Valley at his most recent start and is now on a path from the Adelaide carnival, through to Brisbane for the Guineas and then onto the $7.5 million Golden Eagle, it makes him an easy stallion to love.


What really gets the pulse racing for this colt though is the fact that his dam is the former outstanding race filly and G3 Champion Fillies winner FUDDLE DEE DUDDLE. The daughter of RED RANSOM was fast enough to be a 3-time winner as a 2yo and had an incredibly consistent record at black-type level, finishing in the top 4 at 6 of her 8 appearances as a 2yo and 3yo. Not only was FUDDLE DEE DUDDLE a very fast race filly, she is extremely well related, being the half-sister to the high-class Victorian race filly HALLOWELL BELLE, the G2 VRC Gilgai Stakes and Listed ATC Darby Munro winner, who would be placed a further 13 times at stakes level including 4 times at G1 level highlighted by her 2nd in the 2yo G1 Blue Diamond behind SEPOY! Throw in the fact that the dam of FUDDLE DEE DUDDLE and HALLOWELL BELLE is the full sister to G1 Caulfield Guineas winner IN TOP SWING and it’s really easy to get very excited about our colt’s page.


From a physical point of view, he’s a strong, compact type that looks like he'll give himself the chance to run early, which from his dam’s record you would suggest is likely. To be joining Behemoth being trained by David Jolly on the beaches of Goolwa in SA, we’ll look to bring him through on a program which allows him to target some of the states earlier 2yo races.
