Danzero

Pictured above is a strong athletic filly by the Champion Sire Danzero out of the well related mare that has had two to race for as many winners. This filly's pedigree has had some serious updates since I purchased her.

This filly is by the great Danzero who has also left us the Magic Millions Golden Slipper double winner Dance Hero and Fairway (Australian Derby Gr1), Niconero (Australian Cup Gr1), Jymcarew (Canterbury Guineas Gr1) etc. This season Danzero is placed 21st on the General sire winners list as at 15 July 2010.

Danzero is a very high class stallion that has been consistently been in the top 20 stallions in Australia for the past few years. He has sired 7 Group 1 winners. The number of Group 1 winners sired by the top 10 Australian based sires on the General Sires List as at 15 July 2010 is as follows:

Encosta de Lago (16), Redoute's Choice (18), Street Cry (11), Commands (5), More Than Ready (6), Testa Rossa (3), Flying Spur (12), Fastnet Rock (3), Choisir (1) and Lonhro (1).

Danzero mares are becoming sought after as broodmares with him now moving into 28th on the national brood mare list. He has had a steady improvement over the past four years as displayed below. He has jumped from 123rd four years ago to where he is now. There are only 8 stallions above him still on service in Australia.

I have had terrific success syndicating the progeny of Danzero. Two of our best horses Zero Drama and Hidden Wonder are by this great stallion as well as our very promising three year old Danseda. This filly is quite like Hidden Wonder as a yearling.

I was also closely involved in the career of the Group 1 placed Danzero filly Hinting as well as the stakes placed Brilliant Jewel.

I am pleased to have been able to purchase three fillies this year by Danzero.

Mosse

Mosse is a well related mare that has two foals to race for as many winners. She is out of the five time Stakes winner In The Mist and a half sister to the Group 2 winner De Lago Mist and Group 3 placegetter Granma Gertey.

In The Mist is a sister to the dam of Stakes winner Fragmentation, the dam of Group 1 performer Wanted.

I was keen to purchase this filly after speaking with David Hayes who was very keen on her. She is an athletic filly that has done really well since I purchased her.

She has broken in very well and she will head to David in mid September after a spell for her first preparation.

A close look at the pedigree sees that Danzero works through the page with the stakes performers Granma Gertey and Danazar representing their famous sire.

I expect this filly to race as a late two year old and be a very nice three year old. She is strong behind and gets around well.

Wanted placed second in Group 1 Lightning Stakes at Flemington 30/01/10.

Wanted placed second in Group 1 William Reid Stakes at Moonee Valley 13/02/10.

Wanted won the Group 1 Newmarket Handicap in impressive fashion. He is now standing at stud.

Shrapnel placed third in Listed Queen Adelaide Stakes at Morphettville 13/02/10.

Mosse's half sister De Lago Mist's first foal sold for $300,000 at the Inglis Premier Sale in March.
