DELZAO, a son of champion ENCOSTA DE LAGO, is a Group 2 winning racehorse with a deceiving record. Although unable to break through at the highest level, DELZAO proved time and time again that he was able to match it with the best horses in the country.

The winner of only 2 Stakes races, DELZAO amassed 8 Group placings along the way, half of them at G1 level against some of the toughest racehorses of the decade. Placing behind ELVSTROEM in both the G2 Shannon Classic and the G1 Underwood Stakes, DELZAO was also able to reverse this result on a number of occasions. Finishing 2nd to LONHRO in the G1 Australian Cup, DELZAO passed the post ahead of ELVSTROEM as well as MUMMIFY and the immortal MAKYBE DIVA. He went on to win the G2 Feehen S., beating MAKYBE DIVA by a nose at the finish, ahead of the great mare for the second time in 2 starts, cementing his rightful place amongst classy peers during an exciting phase of Australian racing.

ELEGANT LASS, the Stakes winning dam of this filly, was victorious on 5 occasions, was Stakes placed at a further 3 starts, and also finished fourth in both of Australia's premier sprints - the Newmarket Hcp [G1] and the Oakleigh Plate [G1]. This is only ELEGANT LASS' third foal. She has produced one winner from one foal to race. Second dam, DEMPLE PLAINS, a winner herself, boasts a perfect stud record with 2 from 2 incl. the incredible POWLETT MEWS with 26 wins to his credit.
