Description

By SNIPPETSON (AUS)

Snippetson is a very exciting young stallion by the champion sire Snippets. He was a stakes winner and a full brother to the highly successful sire but ill-fated Snowland.

Snippetson has a tremendous pedigree with his four brothers and sisters that raced all gaining black type. They are Snowland, Portillo, Snowden and Freeze. Tragically, Group 1 winner Snowland became infertile after having a very promising start to his career at stud.

Snippets sons at stud are starting to make a name for themselves with Pins and Snowland the best known.

Snippetson competed against some of the best horses in training and won the STC Eskimo Prince Stakes and was placed in the AJC Challenge Stakes and the STC Missile Stakes.

His first yearlings attracted a lot of interest selling to $180,000.

FIRST SEASON SIRES

Sportingbet Australia have released their market for leading first season sire by Australian winners for the 2009/2010 season with Snippetson the subject of early support.

"We had one punter back Oratorio to win $40,000 within minutes of us opening the market and we'd hardly put the phone in the cradle when another backed Snippetson to win $20,000," said Sportingbet Australia CEO Michael Sullivan.

As a result Snippetson is now into $16, with Golden Slipper winner Stratum a short priced favourite.

A full brother to brilliant juvenile and proven sire Snowland, Snippetson was a surprise packet at the sales this year, outperforming many of his higher priced rivals, with a significant number of his stock finding their way to the major stables, so could be the value horse for first season sire punters this season.

Out of MISS SCHUMANN 2008

This is the second foal of Miss Schumann. I purchased the first foal which races as I Am Magic. I Am Magic was impressive in winning a barrier trial at Elwick on 4 November 2009. He is set to have his first start in the Alfa Bowl at Launceston on 22 November 2009.

Miss Schumann is by the very well related son of Danzig in Brahms. The second dam is by Kenvain. Our promising two year old Too Many Reds second dam is by Kenvain. Kenvain is also the broodmare sire of Under Command.

This should be a very good cross as it combines a very well known Australian male line across a Danzig line mare. The daughters of Danzig line stallions are doing a great job here.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This filly is very well put together and looks like a two year old. She has a great chance of making it as a racehorse as she is by a very promising young stallion out of a mare that has thrown two nice foals, this being only her second foal.

The filly has had a great start being bred at the highly acclaimed nursery Yarraman Park. Four of our recent winners in Hyginus, Sea Coral, Believe 'N Achieve and Izacat were reared at Yarraman Park.

She will be trained by Charlie Goggin in Hobart...
