Siren's Fury to press on to Brisbane

Sunday 20 May 2018, 4:30pm

The manner of Siren's Fury's Dark Jewel Classic win has extended her campaign with trainer Jason Coyle to aim the mare at the Group One Tatt's Tiara.

Happy with how the mare has come through the Group Three race at Scone on May 12, the Warwick Farm trainer will send her north with stablemate White Moss.

"The Dark Jewel was going to be her grand final but she's only got the two runs under her belt. She's come through it really well and it's hard to tip out a mare when she's in form, " Coyle said.

He said Siren's Fury would initially target the Group Two Dane Ripper Stakes (1350m) at Doomben on June 9 as a lead-in to the Group One Tatt's Tiara (1350m) a fortnight later.

"I think she deserves the opportunity to head up north," he said.

Siren's Fury will trial before she heads to Queensland.

Coyle trialled her twice before she resumed with a victory at Hawkesbury two weeks before the Dark Jewel.

"First-up she was excellent, second-up she was excellent so a freshen up and an easy trial is definitely an option," he said.

Coyle said White Moss would launch her Queensland campaign in the Group Three Glenlogan Park Stakes (1350m) on Saturday.

White Moss is also being aimed at the Tatt's Tiara.

"On her day she'll be very competitive in a race like the Tiara," Coyle said.

White Moss has been freshened up since her fifth in the Group Three Godolphin Crown (1300m) at Hawkesbury on April 28 after leading at the 400m.

"It didn't really pan out for us there. She probably did a little too much in front for those chasing her and she ended up a sitting duck," Coyle said.

"She's bounced back from that really well and hopefully she'll find her best form in Queensland."
