The shortest-priced favourite at Rosehill has lived up to his reputation with a determined win.

Interlocuter, trained by James Cummings for Sheikh Mohammed's Godolphin operation, showed why he is predicted to be a future star.

The French import was sent out at $1.50 in Saturday's November Topaz (1900m).

With Tye Angland biding his time in the five-horse field Interlocuter produced a strong last 200 metres to score his sixth career win and fifth in Australia.

Godolphin representative Nacim Dilmi said the Villiers Stakes over 1600 metres next month was a possibility but the best of Interlocuter would be seen in the autumn or spring next year.

"James will decide but at the moment he is probably best at a mile," Dilmi said.

"Two thousand metres is the long range plan.

"The Villiers might be too soon but next preparation is when he will step up to stakes class.

"I know in France they had a big opinion of him."

Interlocutor was trained by French maestro Andre Fabre to win a 1900m-maiden on debut.

He was unplaced at his next start and sent to Australia after being acquired by Godolphin.

He has been first past the post in all four starts this preparation, losing first-up on protest.

There have been no such problems at his past three as he has graduated from 1600 to 1900 metres and beaten Black And Gold at his past two.

On Saturday, the margin was a half neck but Angland said it was a great effort.

"At the moment he is a really good miler and just keeps improving," Angland said.

His stablemate Flow, the $3.80 favourite for the #the races (1400m) couldn't quite bring up a stable double, going down to Redouble by a short head.

Before the race, Flow showed he was ready for the fight when he kicked out in the mounting yard and took a large piece out of one of the stewards' suits.

He also tried hard to beat off Redouble ($4.60) but the Bjorn Baker-trained winner kept his momentum going to win his third race in a row.
