Jockey suspensions cause problems

Thursday 16 November 2017, 7:43am

A stewards crackdown on careless riding has caused a headache for Brisbane's premier trainer Tony Gollan at Doomben.

Gollan accepted with 12 horses on Saturday which would usually have been divided between jockeys Jim Byrne and Tegan Harrison.

Both are missing under suspension while Robbie Fradd, another regularly used by Gollan, is also suspended.

Gollan has allocated the rides to five different jockeys.

Michael Cahill has picked up the prime ride on Most Important in the Keith Noud Quality and will also ride Lord Coconuts and Bourbon Road.

Gollan's apprentice Zoe White has the rides on Prue Angel, Rock My Lady and St Hilary.

Matt McGillivray has the mounts on Capital Connection, Hi I'm Back and El Campeador while Jeff Lloyd rides Mercurian and Courtza King.

Visiting NSW jockey Robert Thompson has the other ride on Heart Of A Warrior.

"It is lucky I have been able to pick up quality replacements when we have so many runners on Saturday," Gollan said.
