Simon Morrish to face RAD Board hearing

Wednesday 15 November 2017, 3:21pm

Trainer Simon Morrish is scheduled to front the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board next month to answer charges relating to allegedly treating a horse against the rules of racing.

Racing Victoria stewards charged Morrish in August and the date for the RAD Board hearing has been set down for December 15.

The first charge alleges Morrish administered or caused to be administered an unknown medication to the horse Show A Star by injection on July 8 - the day the horse was due to race at Flemington.

Stewards scratched Show A Star from the race after receiving a report from the compliance assurance team who had visited Morrish's stables earlier that day.

A second charge, which is an alternative to charge one, alleges Morrish injected Show A Star at some time on July 8, or during the one clear day prior.

Morrish also faces a charge of failing to record the administration of the medication Meloxicam to Show A Star on July 4.
