Daniel Moor suspended for whip rule breach

Saturday 11 November 2017, 6:27pm

Daniel Moor has been suspended for his overuse of the whip after his mount was narrowly beaten at Rosehill.

Moor was found guilty of striking Lycurgus 14 times before the 100m - nine more than he is allowed.

The Victorian jockey will start his suspension on Wednesday and he will be out of the saddle until November 29.

Lycurgus, a $4.20 chance, was beaten a half-head by Vassal in the 2400m race.

Apprentice jockey Blaike McDougall has been suspended for four meetings after pleading guilty to careless riding during the Highway Handicap.
