Brisbane jockey Robbie Fradd to appeal ban

Monday 20 February 2017, 8:02am

Brisbane jockey Robbie Fradd will appeal a suspension which threatens to derail his slight hopes of catching runaway premiership leader Jeff Lloyd.

Fradd received his fourth suspension this year when stewards outed him for 14 days after they found him guilty of careless riding on Bo Rossa at Ipswich on Friday.

Bo Rossa was found to have caused Forbidden Kisses to be severely checked near the line.

As it stands Fradd, who had only returned from another suspension on Friday, will be out from February 26 to March 12.

Fradd is still second on the Brisbane premiership table with 49 winners despite being suspended for a total of 36 days on different charges on New Year's Day, January 7 and January 14.

He has served two of those suspensions but appealed another.
