Londehero, Fradd combine for another win

Saturday 23 July 2016, 2:45pm

Londehero has again been in top form for new best friend jockey Robbie Fradd, with the pair combining to land a betting plunge at Doomben.

Backed from $6 into $3.80, Londehero made it two wins in a row when he beat The Monstar ($6.50) by 1-1/4 lengths in the Tattersall's Open Handicap (1110m) on Saturday.

Espiritu ($9.50) finished another half-head behind.

Londehero went two years without a win before trainer Matt Dunn turned to veteran Fradd to get the best out of the gelding.

The pair have now combined for two wins and a close second.

Dunn was holidaying in Rome on Saturday, and stable spokesman Toby McIntosh said booking Fradd had proved the key with Londehero.

"They get on well together, like mates, and Londehero is now living up to his ability," McIntosh said.

Fradd was also impressed with the win and believes Londhero can win a better race.

"I get on well with him and he is like a lot of older horses - when they win a race they go on to win more," he said.

Skye Bogenhuber, who rode The Monstar, said the gelding had raced well but the difference in weights had told at the finish.
