Seven to oppose Black Caviar in Lightning

Wednesday 13 February 2013, 11:32am

Black Caviar will have seven rivals when she returns to racing in Saturday's Lightning Stakes at Flemington.

The Group One sprint has been re-named the Black Caviar Lightning in honour of the unbeaten mare who has won the race for the past two years.

The final field of eight includes her Peter Moody-trained stablemates Golden Archer and Moment Of Change, the winner of the Group One Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes in the spring.

Group One placegetters First Command and Satin Shoes are the best performed of the other runners.

Black Caviar, who will start from barrier two, hasn't raced since last June when she won the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot to extend her winning record to 22.
