Raw Impulse scratched from Valley race

Friday 17 June 2016, 7:14am

An elevated temperature has forced the Darren Weir-trained Raw Impulse out of his Moonee Valley assignment.

Raw Impulse was the odds-on favourite for Saturday's Vital Healthcare Property Trust Handicap (2040m).

Weir told stewards the horse had an elevated temperature on Friday morning.

Raw Impulse won his first three Australian starts in impressive fashion before finishing fourth as the short-priced favourite in the Listed McKell Cup in Sydney on May 28.

His scratching leaves in-form Turnitaround as the $2.30 favourite.

The Matthew Williams-trained gelding is chasing his fifth-straight win.
