Highland Reel to miss Prince Of Wales

Tuesday 14 June 2016, 6:32am

Cox Plate placegetter Highland Reel will not run in the Prince Of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot because of the wet ground.

He was one of three withdrawals at the final acceptance stage leaving a field of six for the feature headed by Japanese star A Shin Hikari.

Highland Reel's trainer Aidan O'Brien has left Found in the race on Wednesday (Thursday AEST) with The Grey Gatsby, Trystar, My Dream Boat and Western Hymn completing the field.

Highland Reel ran third behind Winx in the Cox Plate in October then beat Flintshire to win the Hong Kong Vase in December.
