Jason Taylor had a lucky escape from serious injury when he was forced to bail off his mount Vitervo Star at Doomben.
Vitervo Star started to hang from the 600m and headed towards the outside fence as the field thundered towards the home turn in the QTIS Maiden (1650m) on Wednesday.
Despite Taylor's best efforts, Vitervo Star continued to hang and the jockey had to jump off.
Vitvero Star ended up in the 2200m shute at the top of the straight and Taylor lay on the ground.
"I couldn't control him and it looked like we were going into the fence. So I jumped off. I was winded and my shoulder is a bit sore," Taylor said.
"But I will sit in the spa for a bit and I am sure I will be right to ride Takedown in the Stradbroke on Saturday."
