Waller favourite for trainers' challenge

Friday 13 May 2016, 6:36am

Chris Waller is the odds-on favourite to win the opening round of a trainers' challenge over the six Group One meetings of the Brisbane winter carnival.

Sponsored by wagering company UBET in conjunction with Racing Queensland, trainers will be given points on a 15, 10 and 5 basis for the first three placegetters in each of the 41 Group and Listed races to be run.

Sydney's premier trainer is at $1.10 to get the most points at Saturday's Doomben meeting featuring the Group One BTC Cup in which he has three runners - Japonisme, Delectation and Counterattack.

The winner receives a luxury car or a trip to the Kentucky Derby and daily winners also receive prizes of QTIS vouchers which can be used at Inglis and Magic Millions sales around Australia.
