Baster sacked by Singapore Turf Club

Monday 21 January 2013, 7:52pm

Australian jockey Stephen Baster has had his Singapore licence revoked with no reason given.

The Singapore Turf Club issued a one line statement on Monday saying Baster could no longer ride there.

"The Club has withdrawn the Jockey Licence issued to Stephen Baster with immediate effect," the statement said.

Baster later confirmed via Twitter he would be making his way home to Australia in the near future.

"Unfortunately my license in S'pore has been withdrawn, with no reason given by the club. I will be heading home soon," Baster tweeted with the hash tags #turnthepage #thatslife.

The popular Baster began riding in Singapore early last year and finished second to Joao Moreira in the premiership.

He is not believed to be the subject of any stewards' inquiries or investigations into his riding.
