Former Sydney galloper Charge Account has found a new lease of life in Brisbane where he has earned the chance to attempt an overdue stakes win at Doomben.

Charge Account will be having his second start in stakes company when he tackles Saturday's Listed Keith Noud Quality (1200m).

The gelding was considered a future star when he raced in Sydney with trainer John O'Shea and then David Vandyke.

He won a race at Canterbury by more than seven lengths and also ran a class record when, as a three-year-old he beat older horses in an 1100m race at Warwick Farm.

However, Charge Account's career was stalled by illness and he failed to win again in Sydney.

John and Pam Cornish, the owners of Torryburn Stud, bred and race Charge Account who is by their sire Charge Forward out of Anabaa mare Shining Asset.

They decided to give Charge Account a chance in Queensland and sent him to respected trainer Doug Roberts who has a small team at Deagon.

Under Roberts, Charge Account has won four races, including three of his past five.

"He seems a happy horse and has been doing very well up here. He deserves a chance at a stakes race," Roberts said.

Rival trainer Rob Heathcote is watching the weather before deciding whether to run Saluter in the Keith Noud.

A barrier trial winner last month, Saluter has since finished second to the Tony Gollan-trained Didntcostalot in quick time over 1100m at Doomben.

Saluter, who has earned $934,000, will be having his fourth start back in Queensland after campaigning for Lee and Anthony Freedman in Victoria and South Australia.

"He should be ready for this race and he will be competitive. But the weather holds a key as he isn't a noted wet tracker," Heathcote said.
