There are no certainties in horse racing but Tony Gollan winning a third straight Brisbane trainers' premiership appears a safe bet.

Gollan produced a treble at Doomben on Wednesday to take his season total of metropolitan winners to 14, eight clear of second placed Rob Heathcote.

He set a record for Brisbane winners last season with 79 and at his current rate will easily sail past that number.

"I never worry about records and the like. It is a matter of continuing to produce winners and the rest looks after itself," Gollan said.

Gollan's strength lays in the depth of his young horses and they were on show again on Wednesday with wins by three-year-olds Chica Peeps ($5.50) and Jetsonic ($3.20) and four-year-old mare Frilly Curtain ($4.80).

First starter Jetsonic was especially impressive as he wanted to hang out from the home turn.

"He is a pretty smart horse and once he learns what it is all about he will be winning in good company," Gollan said.

"We have had four of his dam Showy Little Miss's offspring race for us and they can all gallop. But I think he will be the best to date."

Apprentice Sam Payne had a few anxious moments before winning on the promising Dandy One ($2.70) in the sixth race thanks to some competitive riding by Tegan Harrison on eventual third placegetter Dee Nine Elle.

"Tegan tried to hold me in a pocket at the 250 metres but once he got out he was too strong," Payne said.

Gold Coast galloper Flamboyer, who had been contesting Saturday-class races, appreciated a sharp drop in grade to lead all the way in the CFMEU QLD/NT Branch Handicap for apprentice Alannah Fancourt.

Fancourt completed a race-to-race double aboard Kissed By Destiny, a horse who has given trainer Darren Bell plenty of headaches.

"Kissed By Destiny is a six-year-old mare who has had only five starts but that was because everything went wrong with her - shin soreness, pelvic soreness and then she was a barrier rogue," Bell said.

"But Tony Crane at Beaudesert got her going in the barriers and now she is ready for Saturday class."
