Turnaround in markets after suspension

Friday 17 July 2015, 7:25am

Betting on the Melbourne jockeys' premiership has undergone a reshuffle following the suspension of Dwayne Dunn.

After a winning treble at Moonee Valley on Wednesday, Dunn was outed for 11 meetings on a careless riding charge.

Dunn started the day one win behind Craig Williams and was the $2.65 favourite to land his first title.

His suspension will start following racing at Flemington on Saturday, meaning he will not ride at the final three metropolitan meetings at Bendigo, Caulfield and Ballarat.

Dunn is now out to $3.50 in TAB's betting.

Williams, with 54 winners, is now the favourite at $2.30 to land his fifth title ahead of Damien Oliver (52) who is chasing a 10th premiership and is second pick at $2.70.

Recent Flemington form suggests Williams will be hard to stop after trebles at the track on June 27 and again last Saturday.

With four metropolitan meetings left three jockeys are still in contention for the Sydney premiership.

Blake Shinn drew level with James Mcdonald at Warwick Farm on Wednesday with the pair on 88-1/2 winners, 1-1/2 ahead of Hugh Bowman.

McDonald holds favouritism at $2.20 in TAB markets ahead of Shinn at $2.50 and Bowman at $4.
