Four winners for four-kilo claimer

Friday 10 July 2015, 6:12pm

Victorian apprentice Mitch Aitken has had a day out at Wagga, riding four winners on the nine-race card.

The 17-year-old went to Friday's meeting as a four-kilogram claimer, but that is now reduced to three with the quartet bringing his tally of winners to eight since he began riding in May.

Aitken, who is indentured to Gerald Egan at Mansfield in country Victoria, told Sky Thoroughbred Central it had been a great afternoon.

"It's been an awesome day," Aitken said.

"I've got a lot of people to thank for helping me. It's good to be able to repay them with some winners."

Aitken will have his next rides at Echuca on Monday.
