New Bay bypasses Eclipse date

French Derby winner New Bay will miss the clash with English counterpart Golden Horn in the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown.

Trainer Andre Fabre was not happy with New Bay's work on Monday morning and ruled out Saturday's Group One race in England.

"Andre Fabre has reported that New Bay did not work well enough this morning to justify going to Sandown for the Eclipse Stakes," Teddy Grimthorpe, racing manager for owner Khalid Abdullah said.

"He will now wait and look at the various other options."
