Improved Parmalove ready for Valley test

Thursday 18 June 2015, 12:10pm

Co-trainer Craig Widdison is convinced Parmalove has improved enough from a debut win at the provincials to figure at her introduction to city racing.

Widdison wasn't surprised Parmalove was able to win at Seymour when the two-year-old just got home ahead of the fast-finishing Godolphin juvenile Demonstrate.

That form will be put to the test in Saturday's Silver Thomas Hanley Handicap (1200m) at Moonee Valley with Parmalove and Demonstrate meeting again.

Demonstrate charged home from back in the field in the 1109m race at Seymour and is on the second line of betting at $3.80 behind the Hawkes Racing youngster Mawahibb ($3).

A Dean Yendall ride, Parmalove is at $11.

Widdison said Parmalove had taken benefit from her Seymour experience.

"We're pretty confident she has come on a fair way and that run would have improved her," he said.

"We've got a bit of an opinion of her and think she might even measure up in the spring once we give her a freshen up."

Parmalove, a half-sister to Scone Guineas winner Loved Up, has drawn awkwardly in barrier nine but Widdison believes the daughter of Snitzel will hit the line strongly if she can get the right run.

"She has drawn out a bit and no doubt it's a tougher race, but I think she'll acquit herself pretty well," he said.
