Wet track specialist Banca Mo should get conditions to suit when he aims to add to his Cups collection at the Gold Coast on Saturday.

The seven-year-old has won the Mornington, Warrnambool and Pakenham Cups and has placed in the Hobart and Launceston Cups.

He failed by a head to add last Saturday's 2150-metre Ipswich Cup to his resume and will stretch to 2400 metres in the Group Three Tattersall's Cup at the Gold Coast.

Banca Mo's Tasmanian trainer Scott Brunton has left the gelding in the care of Queensland horseman Bevan Laming since he finished unplaced in the Group One Doomben Cup three starts ago.

It followed his scratching from the Hollindale Cup due to a travel delay which Laming said affected the early part of the horse's Queensland preparation.

"They couldn't get a plane to get him here and he was a run behind when they ran him in the Doomben Cup," Laming said.

"But he is on line now and the predicted wet track on Saturday will be a big help.

"He has had five goes at Saturday's distance for two wins and two minor placings."

Banca Mo has had 13 starts on soft tracks for seven wins and four seconds while his three heavy track runs have yielded a win and a second.

Jockey Michael Cahill believes Saturday's race looks an ideal target for the $4.20 second favourite.

"He certainly seems to have a few things in his favour as he does like soft tracks," Cahill said.

Meanwhile, trainer Liam Birchley confirmed last week's Winter Stayers Championship winner Pop 'N' Scotch will back up in the Tattersall's Cup.

"I have been wanting to get him out to 2400 metres and he has come up well after the Ipswich win," Birchley said.
