Exciting last-start Flemington winner Duibio will figure in an increase in distance and a trip to Adelaide on Saturday.

A winner of three of his five starts, Duibio is a dual acceptor at Flemington and Morphettville but the Caulfield-trained galloper will be sent interstate.

Duibio is the $2.70 favourite for the Adelaide Guineas (1600m).

Trainer Ciaron the Guineas as a test for a possible trip to Brisbane for the Queensland Derby on June 6.

"I'm still not 100 per cent sure what his ideal distance is," Mahar said.

"But I'm sure I'll find out a bit more about him on Saturday.

"I think he'll run a strong mile and if he does get that okay then I'm going to look at the Derby with him."

Duibio was trained in Sydney by Clarry Conners before making his way to Mahar's yard at the end of last year and after running seventh in a maiden race at Sandown he has gone on to win at his next three starts.

He came off a six-week break when successful over 1400m at Flemington on April 25, carrying 57kg.
