Wide gate for First Seal in G1 Coolmore

Wednesday 11 March 2015, 10:56am

Star filly First Seal has drawn a wide gate for the Group One Coolmore Classic at Rosehill on Saturday when she takes on older mares for the first time.

The last-start Surround Stakes winner has barrier 11 in the field of 13 with the David Vandyke-trained Arabian Gold drawn the outside.

Topweight Dear Demi has drawn gate 12 while three-year-old Adrift, who defeated First Seal in the Light Fingers Stakes two starts ago, has drawn barrier three.

Godolphin's Inner Circle will be among nine colts in the Pago Pago Stakes, the final chance for the two-year-old males to secure a berth in the Golden Slipper a week later.

A field of 14 fillies has been accepted for the Magic Night Stakes, including the Chris Waller-trained Always Allison who will have to overcome a wide draw to convince her connections to pay a late-entry fee for the Slipper.
