Moment Of Music has earned her shot at a lucrative sales-restricted race in Melbourne and trainer Kris Lees has opted for a gear chance to ensure the filly is at her sharpest.

Lees has sent Moment Of Music south from his NSW base at Newcastle for Saturday's $250,000 Inglis Premier at Sandown where she will race in blinkers for the first time.

Moment Of Music's three starts have been close to home at Scone and include back-to-back wins over 1000m and 1100m either side of a nine-week let-up.

"With her coming back to 1000 metres I just thought we needed the blinkers to keep her a little sharp," Lees said.

"And being her first time the Melbourne way of going, I thought it may enhance her chances."

Saturday's race is restricted to two-year-olds nominated in the Inglis Race Series that were offered at last year's Premier Yearling sale.

NSW-trained fillies have won the race three times in the past five years.

The John Thompson-trained Not A Pretender came off two Sydney starts to win the event at Caulfield in 2010 before the Gerald Ryan-trained subsequent Group One winner Snitzerland spaced her rivals in 2012 at Mornington.

A year later the Bjorn Baker-trained Twilight Royale scored a convincing win, also at Mornington.

Moment Of Music, a $30,000 yearling, is on the fourth line of betting at $7.50 with the Robbie Griffiths-trained Deja Blue $3.60 favourite.

Lees believes the filly is one of a number of chances.

"She's in winning form and it looks the right race for her," he said.

"She's only won at Scone but she's a tough filly and puts herself in the right spot.

"Blinkers go on for the first time. I'm confident she'll run in the prize money."
