When Sharkbite went thorough the ring at Australia's premier yearling sale, Easter Inglis, his pedigree and type to match demanded that top dollar be paid. In the end he was knocked down for $900,000, one of the highest lots of the sale.Undefeated in his juvenile year, Sharkbite was given an opportunity not always afforded to colts of his breeding, the chance to train on. As a 3yo he was twice group performed and at 4yo he achieved stakes success when winning the Listed Lord Stakes at Caulfield.
By the Australia's pre-eminent sire Redoute's Choice, Sharkbite is distinguishably bred. Out of the Quest For Fame mare, Back Pass, Sharkbite is a member of Juddmont Farm's famous Hasili family. Hasili is the dam of five Gr.1 winners and, most importantly for potential Sharkbite breeders, Dansili one of the world's best sires.
