At the time of writing Purrealist is the equal leading first season sire for metropolitan winners in Australia. Given the credentials he retired to stud with, this should come as no surprise to anyone.On the racetrack he was supremely talented and certainly looked set for greater achievements. From just five starts he filled the placing's every start over the sprint distances, four of these starts were in stakes company. He claimed Group status in the MRC Caulfield Guineas Prelude over seven furlongs.
In his short career he defeated dual hemisphere Champion and triple Group 1 winner Scenic Blast, triple Group 1 Golden Slipper winning Champion filly Forensics, Group 1 MRC Blue Diamond winner Shrewd Rythym, Group 1 winner Littorio, Group 2 MVRC AAMI Vase winner Marching, Champion 2YO Colt now sire Zizou and Group 3 winning sire Murtajill.
Purrealist is by elite sire Tale of the Cat who is responsible for 74 stakes winners. Tale of the Cat extends the influence of the immortal Storm Cat on the breed.
The distaff side of his pedigree more than holds it's own. Out of a colonially bred speed mare he is a half brother to the Champion and five time Group 1 winning Racing to Win and stakes winners are found in every generation in his first three dams.
His pedigree grid reads as a who's who of influential stallions. Included are Storm Cat, Mr Prospector, Bletchingly, Kenmare, Sir Tristram, Secretariat, Northern Dancer and Raise a Native.
