Lago Delight is a powerfully built stallion who puts that self-same trait into his progeny. On the whole they are magnificent individuals; beautifully conformed,powerful and athletic.
A son of Champion Sire Encosta De Lago and Group winning mare Sweet Delight, Lago Delight showed brilliant speed in his all too brief racing career to win the MVRC Mitchell McKenzie Stakes (L) 1000m and photo-finishing second in the Ascot Vale Stakes 1200m Gr2 (now Gr1). As he was bred to get over more ground it's unfortunate that we never got to see the best of this outstanding race horse.
As yet lightly raced, Lago Delight's progeny are proving to be competitive racehorses - his runners to winners/placed ratio is excellent at 60%. Lago Delight has firmly established himself amongst the top third season sires with 37 individual winners and progeny earnings of $1.23 million.
Lago Delight has an impressive stallion's pedigree being a full brother to Gr1 placed Raffaello and half brother to notable second season sire and Group winner Tycoon
