Little Favours is a 4 year old sprint mare who has won four races and $120,000. She is stakes placed and a half sister to fellow stakes placed mare Capital Commander.


Their five-time winning dam Chicken Little is a half sister to the dam of HOW FUNNY (Listed winner and second in the Gr.1 Golden Slipper), in turn the dam of SW JESTER'S GIRL and SP The Comedian. Chicken Little is also a half sister to SP Dreaming On.


Little Favours' second dam is Gr.2 winner TWINING, who also placed twice at Gr.1 level as a juvenile.


Little Favours is a very nice type of mare – she is correct, sound and compact with a great shoulder and hindquarter, as these photos attest.


She is a daughter of Falvelon, who as a relatively young broodmare sire, has to-date only had 26 starters for 10 winners incl SP Holey Gadoley. Little Favours carries no Northern Dancer, Red Ransom, Sadler’s Wells, Mr. Prospector or Storm Cat etc, making her an excellent outcross.


Little Favours last won in September 2013. After a couple of unplaced runs in Melbourne last October behind LANKAN RUPEE and LIESELE in stakes events and then a spell, Little Favours has taken a while to find her feet, but showed a return to some form when she ran second at Hawkesbury on 22nd May. In the absence of more suitable races, her Warwick Farm trainer Jarrod Austin reluctantly backed her up in 12 days. She ran a good race, moving up to third in the straight but got tired near the line, finishing fifth.


Jarrod is confident she could win back some of her purchase price. She is in full racing and there is time to race her on for a couple of starts before retiring her for stud.


This is a family riddled with stakes level sprinters, several of them commercial breeding females. At this year’s Sydney Inglis Easter Broodmare sales, her half sister Capital Commander (also a maiden) sold for $205,000. HOW FUNNY's More Than Ready yearling sold for $260,000 at the Gold Coast Magic Millions this year, while her daughter Jester's Girl (in foal to Sebring) made $310,000 at the Inglis Easter Broodmare Sale.
