Description:

Vintage Salon is by Royal Academy, the broodmare sire of the likes of FASTNET ROCK, HEART OF DREAM, MAJESTIC MUSIC, etc. She is a half sister to stakes winner Rutherford Eagle and Group 1 performer Jolie Brise.

This is a very active family. Her half sisters have been covered by Lonhro, Stratum and Not A Single Doubt this season.

Vintage Salon's first foal by Strategic unfortunately died as a yearling a few months ago. Her 2010 filly by Reaan also died as a foal. In both circumstances it was just a matter of bad luck than bad breeding.

Her 2011 colt by REAAN is very typical of the breed being a forward, strong bodied type. Reaan will be represented with his first crop yearlings in 2012 across Australia.

This is a good quality running family, with Vintage Salon's first 3 dams having had 21 to race for 18 winners. It's a lovely broodmare's pedigree being by Royal Academy, out of a Last Tycoon mare, out of a Vain mare.

Covering sire HUSSONET has produced more Group One winners (28) than any stallion standing in Australia today. He currently sits inside the top 10 sires in Australia (by winners). Hussonet has averaged 89 Australian winners per season for the past three seasons and will be represented in 2011/12 with two year-old progeny from arguably his best quality book of mares.

Some names of Hussonet 2YO's to watch out for over the coming months include Miss Helsinki (a daughter of Miss Finland), Boss Hussler (a full brother to Reaan) and The Broken Shore (a half-sister to Redoute's Choice and Manhattan Rain).
