Description

From STREET HERO (by STREET CRY) out of REDOUTE'S CHOICE mare LES ROSES - this lightly raced 4YO filly has unfortunately suffered from a nagging injury in her near fore limb (x-rays available). Whilst showing good signs of being able to stay the injury has not enabled her to prove it on the track and accordingly we now offer her for sale as a broodmare for the 2014 breeding season. The injury will not impede her breeding career.

A breeding certificate is available.

The filly is beautifully bred on similar lines to a STREET CRY – DANEHILL cross which has produced several stakes winners in Australia and overseas, notably:

• Shocking (2005) multiple G1 winner of $4,981,275
• Tallow (2006) G3 winner of $365,530
• SplashPoint (2008) G3 winner in UK and Dubai of US $200,234+
• Falls of Lora (2009) G3 winner at Ascot UK and of US $198,673+

In terms of confirmation, the filly is a correct type with great scope, average bone, good in front, good hip, good hind leg, straight through the shoulder, and back of the knee and is upright through the pasterns with relatively small feet. She stands about 15.3 hands and weighed in recently at 490 kgs.

The stallion STREET HERO was a powerfully built, strong individual standing at 16.1 hands. With an outstanding head, intelligent eye, accompanied by good scope and a long rein, Street Hero had all the key traits to pass on to his progeny. This loose walking stallion with a strong shoulder and forearm had excellent acceleration typical of the Street Cry breed. Street Hero is by the same sire as Australian Champion 3YO Whobegotyou, Breeders’ Cup winner Zenyatta and Melbourne Cup winner Shocking, all Group performers. His 1st Dam Squall Linda a Gr 3 mare is by Summer Squall whose first and second dams are both champion broodmares and his 2nd Dam is a half sister to the dam of Australian Champion filly November Rain.

The dam, LES ROSES, by Redoute’s Choice. 5 wins 1200 to 1600m, $121,000, AJC McGrath Hcp, STC Tonizone Household Products Hcp, 2d AJC Savannah Success H, Quasar Constructions Hcp, 3d AJC Cointreauversial Hcp, This was her second foal. This city-winning Redoute’s Choice mare is a half-sister to two other city winners and is out of a half-sister to the USA Group 1-winning mare Catinca. Les Roses’ 3rd dam is another USA Group 1 winner – Inca Queen – who won 8 of her 41 starts and then produced 11 winners including a trio of Graded Stakes Winners who all went on to stallion careers at stud producing 28 stakeswinners between them. Inca Queen’s dam was Silver Spoon (by Citation), the Champion USA 3YO Filly of 1959. This is an outstanding American family descended from the Broomstick mare Frillery which also boasts the Kentucky Derby winner Gato del Sol, Belmont Stakes victor Counterpoint, Melbourne Cup winner Beldale Ball, Champion French 2YO Filly Tersa, Group 1 winner and leading sire Silver Buck, and Group 1 winners State Dinner, Germany, Rock Hard Ten, All American, Cravat, Silver True, Platinum Paws, Banquet Table, Tompion, Coined Silver, Dinner Gong and Small Favor.
